School Psychologist:

The school psychologist works closely with the entire school community: students, staff, and parents. Her responsibilities include:

  • Assessing student’s cognitive, achievement, social, and emotional functioning; recommending to teachers specific techniques to meet students' individual needs; and collaborating with teachers to design classroom behavior plans.
  • Providing students with short-term counseling for issues that are negatively affecting their academic performance, and when necessary, making referrals to outside mental health professionals.
  • Calling Child Study Team meetings for specific student concerns.
  • Screening new applicants and working on the Admissions Team to determine acceptance and placement.
  • Acting as a resource on educational, psychological, and developmental topics for teachers and parents.
