Instructional Technology:

The Instructional Technology program is designed to assist 2-12 students in learning the computer skills needed to be successful in school and in the real world. The elementary aged students use computer software to practice basic computer skills, develop appropriate technology vocabulary, learn touch typing skills, conduct authentic research, select and utilize appropriate software to support learning, and become familiar with productivity software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and photo-editing software.

Middle school and high school students continue learning touch typing, but also develop advanced skills in research and presentation skills, word processing, database, spreadsheets, internet research, web page design, photo-editing, and desktop publishing. In addition, the use of various software programs, internet resources, and various other technologies assist students in their learning through school-based projects, organizational management, and career planning

The goal of this department is to provide the skills and opportunities to utilize technology productively and ethically as citizens in the 21st century.
