Fawzia Sultan International School was founded in 1993 through the philanthropic initiative of Mr. Fawzi Al-Saleh, and was named in honor of his late wife, Ms. Fawzia Al-Sultan, who was an avid believer in the importance and power of education, and who also believed that every child deserved a chance to realize his/her learning potential.

As such, FSIS was established as the first school of its kind in the Middle East to recognize the problems of children who were intelligent and capable but who were not experiencing academic success. Ms. Al-Sultan aimed to create an educational environment that met individual needs of every student. FSIS is the result of her dream.
